About Holt
Holt is a Georgian market town in north Norfolk, four miles inland from the coast at Cley. The town was almost completely rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1708, which is why so many of its buildings share a uniform Georgian style. Holt is home to Gresham's School, one of the oldest public schools in England, founded in 1555. The town's centre, focused on the Market Place and the surrounding Georgian streets, is filled with independent shops, art galleries, antiques dealers and tea rooms.
